Nightsniffing Research Process

On the left is the bio|audio mapping of bat walks and surveys, the outcome of which is investgated through an analysis of conversations around the maps to discover relations between apparatuses and affective logics. On the rihgt is a co-inquiry with Concrete Action of planning data system, producing an anatomy and mappings of the systems that similarly are investigated to understand how they relate to affective logics. In the centre is making materials and software libraries, feeding into the other processes. All the processes feed into the iterative creation of a contraption and its environment, realised through building, exploring, tinkering, coding and wandering. This generates a contraption and a walking environment which are further developed through their intra-actio with one another. These produce the Nightsniffing walks, which are understood through collective post-walk discussions.
