Peckham (2020)

About the route

The concept was to follow the route of the Peckham Coal Line - a proposed community-led project to link up Peckham’s neighbourhoods via a linear park following the train line. This provided a link to the idea of ‘connectivity’ – important to understanding how bats move and use space in the city, but also being used here to frame community development. The area ended up being somewhat ‘busy’ in terms of its levels of development, which perhaps made the datasniffer’s rattles less evocative because they were so constant. Following the walk, we sat down to discuss it in Warwick Gardens, accompanied by bats overhead, the rattle of trains and a very nosey fox.
