Other components

Components

  • 2 x push Solenoids (e.g.6V DC Push Type Open Frame Solenoid SDO0626S0600001)
  • 9v Battery (recommend USB rechargeable 9V, with accompanying micro-USB to USB cable for charging)
  • Battery clip for 9v battery
  • 2 Slide Potentiometers (I used Taiwan Alpha RA6020F-20-15F2-B10K 10K LIN 60mm Slide Potentiometer)
  • 3 male 2 pin JST connectors
  • 6 male 3 pin JST connectors
  • 2 male 4 pin JST connectors
  • Compass module incorporating magnetometer and accelerometer via SDA interface (I used GY-511 LSM303DLHC e-Compass 3 Axis Accelerometer Magnetometer Module Sensor) with accompanying male header pins.
  • Wire (recommend that you use three colour - e.g. red for live, black for ground, yellow for signal)
  • Solder
  • 4 x female to male jumper wires (20 cm minimum)

What needs to be built

  • The slide potentiometers should each be wired to a 3 pin male JST connector, which will allow them to be plugged into the Primary HAT. This in turns allows the Pi to read their value.
  • Three 3 wire cables should be constructed, with a 3 pin male JST connector on either end. These will connect the filter switch board and the noise maker board. (If you have given the noise maker board more pins, make a cable to match.
  • The provided male header pins should be soldered into the compass module (these need to be purchased if not provided). The Female to male jumper wires are used to connect this to the Primary HAT.
